Engine Programmer
At Bespoke Pixel, we’re all about creating something extraordinary. We’re a small, fully funded, independent studio working on a well-known IP.
THE ROLE
You’ll be one of the key technical minds behind our game, making sure everything runs like a dream. You’ll work at the core of our technology, developing and fine-tuning systems that power our game. Whether it’s optimizing performance, building tools, or making sure our tech is rock-solid across platforms, you’ll be the person making it happen. Your work will give our designers and artists the freedom to create without limits.
Engine Programmers like you are the backbone of a great game. You’ll work on systems that touch everything—rendering, physics, memory, and performance. You’ll be building the foundation that allows everyone else to bring their best ideas to life.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build, optimize, and maintain core engine systems in Unreal Engine 5.
- Make sure our game runs smoothly and performs well across platforms.
- Work closely with gameplay programmers, designers, and artists to ensure the engine supports their needs.
- Develop custom tools and pipelines to make life easier for the whole team.
- Track down and fix performance bottlenecks across CPU, GPU, and memory.
- Future-proof our engine tech so it’s ready for anything we throw at it.
- Solve tricky technical problems and make sure everything is stable and efficient.
- Mentor junior developers and help shape how we work as a team.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong C++ and low-level systems programming skills.
- 5+ years as an engine, systems, or low-level programmer (shipped titles are a plus).
- Experience from working in Unreal Engine, Unreal Insights and RenderDoc.
- Expertise in performance optimization, memory management, and multi-threading.
- Great problem-solving and debugging abilities.
- Experience working across platforms (PC, console).
- Ability to build tools and systems that empower creatives.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for creating powerful, stable, and efficient tech.
WHY JOIN US?
We’re a small, tight-knit team where you’ll have the freedom to shape your work, make decisions, and see your impact every day. We work hard—but we know how to enjoy ourselves too. You’ll be surrounded by talented people who love what they do and support each other.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
