Environment Artist
We are a small studio, hyper-focused on only one thing; creating a masterpiece. We are exploring a well-known IP and pushing the limits of perfection.
At Bespoke Pixel, we're all about creating something extraordinary. We’re a small, fully funded, independent studio working on a well-known IP, and we’re pushing boundaries when it comes to gameplay and quality. Our experienced team is a blend of creativity and technical brilliance—and now, we’re looking for an Environment Artist to join the team and help shape our world.
The role and what you will do
We are looking for an Environment Artist who loves beautiful and realistic world-building. This is a role for someone who has moved past the junior phase, knows how to handle practical production constraints and is ready to make a major visual impact on our project.
You will be part of shaping the look and feel of our game worlds —from creating and dressing realistic environments to ensuring every asset fits perfectly into our shared vision.
Craft Realistic Worlds: Help craft rich, varied, and realistically styled environments, dressing scenes with props, foliage, materials, and surface details.
Model & Populate: Create and iterate on 3D assets and environment variations while maintaining absolute visual consistency.
Collaborate on Layouts: Work closely with the world team to take areas from basic blockout and layout to final, polished brilliance.
Optimize & Polish: Keep your work clean, modular, and efficient. Optimize assets for performance and proactively troubleshoot visual bugs.
Stay Sharp: Contribute ideas and solutions that help us raise the bar visually and technically , staying up to date with the latest tools and realistic rendering techniques.
What we are looking for
Experience: At least 3–4 years of working as an Environment Artist within the games industry.
Artistic Style & Fundamentals: A solid grasp of realistic art fundamentals- modelling, texturing, lighting, modular workflows, and optimization. You have a keen eye for detail, composition, and realistic visual storytelling.
Software Proficiency: Confidence using industry-standard tools like Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, Substance Painter/Designer, or similar. Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
Collaborative Mindset: A positive, professional attitude. You enjoy giving and receiving feedback, working across disciplines, and managing your deadlines effectively.
Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating your modelling capabilities and a proven track record of building realistic, immersive environments.
Why join us? The Bespoke Pixel advantage
This isn't a role where you’ll be a cog in a machine. This is an opportunity to be a key decision-maker in a small, tight-knit team where your impact is visible and valued every day. We believe that great work is done by happy people.
Competitive Salary: We offer a competitive salary that is commensurate with your expertise and the market.
Work-Life Balance: Enjoy 5 weeks of paid vacation. We believe in building a healthy, sustainable studio culture.
Relocation & Barcelona Life: Our beautiful office is located in central Barcelona, complete with a rooftop terrace, a gym, and a fantastic community. We are ready to help with relocation for the right candidate.
Comprehensive Benefits: We provide free private health insurance, a €200 monthly stipend for meals and transportation, and a yearly allowance for professional development.
Team & Culture: We are a team of talented people who love what they do and support each other. You can look forward to regular team events and after-work hangouts.
